Why does this problem occur?
After copying files to your smartphone, the file modification date of your pictures and videos is set to the same date when they were copied, causing them to appear in random order in galleries.

How can Image & Video Date Fixer correct this?
Cameras store metadata in images and videos. This metadata, called EXIF for images and quicktime for videos, includes information like camera model, GPS coordinates, and recording date. Image & Video Date Fixer utilizes this recording date to set the file modification date accordingly, allowing the gallery to display images correctly.

What about images and videos without metadata?
If no metadata like EXIF or quicktime is available, Image & Video Date Fixer can use the date from the file name if present. This is particularly useful for images like those from WhatsApp. Additionally, both images and videos have their file modification date corrected along with saving EXIF or quicktime metadata.

What else can Image & Video Date Fixer do?

Information about Instagram, Facebook, Twitter (and other apps)
Some apps use creation dates to sort images and changing creation dates is not technically feasible. Nevertheless, Image & Video Date Fixer can restore order by temporarily moving images to another folder, sorting them based on their capture date (chronologically), then moving them back. Although new creation dates are generated for today's date during this process, they maintain the correct chronological order in applications like Instagram and Facebook.

With the free version, you can correct up to 100 files per run. For correcting more files per run or adjusting Facebook and Instagram galleries sorted by creation date requires the premium version.
